The New York City Clerk's lobbying bureau has released its annual report showing the city's highest-paid lobbying firms and highest-paying clients. The biggest spender: Major League Soccer, which is attempting to land a new franchise and get city approval to build a stadium in Queens.The #10 spender was the Atlantic Yards Development Company:
Not surprisingly, meanwhile, this year's highest-paid firm was Kasirer Consulting, the firm founded by Suri Kasirer. Her firm raked in about $6 million—about a tenth of all of the city lobbying dollars spent in 2012. The firm also earned nearly twice as much as its nearest competitor.

The Atlantic Yards Development Company was actually #1 in the number of lobbyists retained, six; three other clients, including Major League Soccer, hired five lobbying firms.
