Shake Shack coming in fall to Flatbush Avenue opposite arena

I wrote last week that unfilled major spaces near the arena--notably the former Triangle Sports site at Fifth Avenue and Flatbush Avenue and the ground-floor space at the Atlantic Terrace building--would be filled with establishments that cater to the arena crowds.

Add a few more spaces, like a furniture store at 170 Flatbush Avenue, on the south side of the street between Fifth Avenue and Pacific Street.

Shake Shack is coming in the fall, serving "natural burgers, flat-top dogs, frozen custard, beer, wine and more." (See Grub Street, and Brownstoner.)

That means competition for two smaller establishments a few blocks away: Bark and 67 Burger. At all three, I'm sure, beer costs far less than inside the arena. And Shake Shack will be closer.
